2012 Kentucky Derby: I'll Have Another Ready To Run For Triple Crown

An exciting Kentucky Derby, produced a surprise winner when I'll Have Another, running with 15-to-1 odds, burst past Bodemeister just in time to cross the finish line.

The lightly bet I'll Have Another paid out $32.60 for those who did take a chance on picking the winner. So now I'll Have Another becomes the star of the Preakness as the horse will try to take the second leg of the Triple Crown in two weeks. I'll Have Another needed every bit of the mile and a quarter track at Churchill Downs to win the "Run for the Roses" so to keep the Triple Crown hopes alive in Baltimore, the Derby champ will need to start that late close a little earlier since the race is a mile and three-sixteenths.

But there is no doubt that I'll Have Another will take his shot at the Triple Crown. Following the win, trainer Doug O'Neil declared in his post-race interview, "Maryland, here we come, baby!"
