Les Miles Gives Commencement Address At Elyria High School

Elyria native Les Miles was in town this weekend to your his former high school at his 40th reunion, and the LSU coach sprung into action to deliver an impromptu graduation speech. Along with Heisman winner Vic Janowicz, the Mad Hatter is one of the more famous football players to walk the halls of Elyria. He's also one of the most colorful characters in college football, and he emphasized that in his speech to the graduating seniors on Saturday:

He urged the 164th graduating class of Elyria High School to "operate with swagger."

"Swagger really means style," Miles said. "I've never met an Elyria High graduate who didn't have style."

Of course he had to use the word "swagger" in his address. After he graduated from Elyria, Miles went on to continue his career playing for Michigan. He still comes back to the area every now and then to receive awards and give speeches, but this commencement address had not been planned at all.
