College World Series Bracket 2012: Kent State Faces Must-Win Vs. No. 1 Florida

If the Kent St. Golden Flashes are going to avoid an 0-2 performance in the 2012 College World Series they will have to do it the hard-way. After losing to Arkansas in its opener Kent State now must face the Florida Gators, who were the No. 1 overall National Seed in this year's NCAA Tournament.

Florida was upset by two-time defending National Champion South Carolina 7-3 on Saturday night to fall into and elimination game with the Golden Flashes. SB Nation's Alligator Army wrote about the loss to the Gamecocks:

Florida is college baseball's best team this year. These Gators can hit, pitch, field, rip off 18 straight wins against a merciless non-conference schedule, go cold, return to their previous temperature, coast through the NCAA Tournament to earn a trip to Omaha and the College World Series, have nine players taken in the MLB Draft, and generally look like the finest team in the nation and the finest team in school history.

First pitch is at 5 p.m. ET on Monday.
