2012 NBA Draft: Fab Melo To Work Out For Cavaliers

Syracuse center Fab Melo is set to work out for the Cleveland Cavaliers, possibly on Friday, via Bob Finnan of The News Herald.

News of the reported workout comes on the heels of the 7-foot, 255-pound Big East Player of the Year addressing the academic suspension that took him out of the NCAA Tournament in March, via The Associated Press.

"It was academic," Melo said Tuesday after working out for the Pacers in Indianapolis. "They ask, I explain (what) happened -- that I came from another country and until four years ago didn't even speak English."

Melo is in play for Cleveland's No. 24 pick in the draft, though his stock has gone up recently. He has been linked to the Celtics at No. 21 and No. 22 and SB Nation's Tom Ziller has him going No. 16 to Houston in his latest mock draft.
