NBA Draft Trade Rumors: Cavaliers, Bobcats Discussing No. 2 Overall Pick

On Tuesday afternoon, a rumor surfaced that the Cleveland Cavaliers and Charlotte Bobcats are engaging in discussions that would send the No. 2 overall selection to the Cavs in exchange for the No. 4, 24 and 34 overall picks in the 2012 NBA Draft on Thursday night. The Bobcats and Cavs have been rumored as potential trade partners almost since the lottery, but with the recent buzz over Brad Beal, it appears the talks are heating up as the Cavs try to leapfrog the Wizards at No. 3.

The Cavaliers are reportedly interested in selecting the Florida two-guard, who many project to be selected by the Washington Wizards at No. 3 overall. By jumping up to the No. 2 slot, the team would be able to ensure the acquisition of Beal.

The hangup is that Charlotte, not in love with anyone available at No. 2, wants Cleveland's 24th pick. Cleveland also has had conversations with Sacramento (No. 5) and Golden State (No. 7), but the Charlotte deal makes the most sense and sources say there is enough momentum and desire on both sides to get it done. The Bobcats like Robinson and Barnes, and at least one of them will be available at No. 4
