NBA Draft Rumors: Anderson Varejao On The Trading Block?

With just a few hours to go before David Stern takes the stage to announce the first pick of the 2012 NBA Draft, the trade rumors are coming fast and furious. The Cavaliers have four picks in the top 35 and the always active Chris Grant is pursuing a number of options. The latest rumors indicate that Anderson Varejao may be on the trading block as the Cavaliers look to acquire an additional pick in the lottery. Via Joe Kotoch of Pro Basketball Draft:

Cavaliers PF/C Anderson Varejao, of the players that could realistically be dealt during the #NBADraft , is the top big man on the trade market. According to a source Cleveland has been talking to teams in the lottery about him.

Varejao has two more years on his contract with a team option for a third. The productive power forward spent the second half of last season on the bench with an injured right wrist and while he's a fan favorite, parting with him as a valuable trade chip could be the way to add younger pieces around Kyrie Irving as Grant builds for the future.
