Easily the most promising player on the USA Select Team, Cleveland guard Kyrie Irving's endless string of highlight reel plays might have to be put on hold for a little bit, as SLAM Magazine's Tzvi Twersky reported on Saturday that the talented guard was seen wearing a cast on his hand.
Breaking: Kyrie Irving's hand is in a cast. He most likely broke a bone during practice, according to sources.

While no details have trickled out, this is clearly disconcerting news for the Cleveland Cavaliers and their fans. It's entirely possible that the cast was a precautionary measure for an injury not quite as serious as a broken hand, but it's hard not to fear the absolute worst right now as a Cleveland sports fan.
Irving recently made a public challenge to Team USA member Kobe Bryant for a 1-on-1 game with the proceeds going to charity, and truly appeared to be both gelling and flourishing alongside teammates this summer. Hopefully for everyone's sake the talented point guard is able to get back on the court as soon as possible.
