Dwight Howard Trade: Clippers To Join Deal As 4th Team, According To Report

On Monday afternoon, ESPN's basketball analyst Chad Ford reported that the Los Angeles Clippers have been propositioned to join the Brooklyn Nets, Cleveland Cavaliers and Orlando Magic in the trade proposal to bring disgruntled superstar Dwight Howard to Brooklyn in what potentially will be a four-team blockbuster trade.

Via ESPN.com:

According to sources the Nets would receive Howard, Jason Richardson, Chris Duhon and Earl Clark in the proposed deal. The Magic would get Brook Lopez in a sign-and-trade, Luke Walton, Damian James, Sheldon Williams, Armon Johnson and three first-round picks -- two from the Nets and a lottery protected first from the Clippers. The Cavs would get Kris Humphries in a sign-and-trade, Quentin Richardson, Sundiata Gaines, a first round pick from the Nets and three million in cash. The Clippers would receive MarShon Brooks.

Sources told ESPN.com that the complicated deal was getting "close."

Humphries is a 6-foot-9 power forward who averaged 13.8 points and 11 assists in 62 games with the Nets last season. Richardson is a 32-year-old guard who averaged 4.5 points, 2.6 rebounds and 18 minutes a game last season while playing as a member of the Magic. Gaines is a guard who averaged 5.1 points and 13:54 minutes a game with the Nets.

As of this time, the Clippers have yet to agree on joining the deal but are considering it.
