Browns Vs. Lions Final Score: Late Field Goal Gives Cleveland 19-17 Win In Preseason Opener

The Cleveland Browns won their 2012 preseason opener 19-17 on Friday night at Ford Field courtesy of a Jeff Wolfert 45-yard field goal with just 28 seconds left in the game. The Browns, who trailed 14-3 at halftime, outscored Detroit 16-3 in the second half to earn the exhibition win.

Rookie quarterback Brandon Weeden was just three for nine in his limited work, passing for 62 yards and also being picked off once. Back-up Colt McCoy was six of eight for 88 yards in the game, but was sacked twice.

The win is tempered by the loss of wide receiver Mohamed Massaquoi, who had to leave the game after one play with a head injury after being hit high as he attempted to catch a Weeden pass.
