According to Dawgs By Nature, fifteen players missed practice for the Cleveland Browns yesterday. The most notable absence is that of rookie running back Trent Richardson, who will likely miss all of training camp as he rehabs from left knee surgery. The team says, however, that he should be ready for Week 1 of the regular season.

Also of note is the injury to wide receiver Mohamed Massaquoi. Massaquoi was removed from the team's first preseason game after he sustained a concussion. Controversy followed, however. Massaquoi went to social media, tweeting that his removal from the game was precautionary, and that he in fact did not suffer a concussion. Head coach Pat Shurmer, according to Browns beat reporter Daryl Ruiter, then refuted his wideout's claim saying, "I told you what happened and that's what happened". In any matter, Massaquoi remains out.

Other players who missed practice include fullback Eddie Williams, wide receiver Travis Benjamin, tight ends Jordan Cameron and Benjamin Watson, defensive ends Frostee Rucker and Marcus Benard, defensive tackles Phil Taylor and Scott Paxson, linebackers Scott Fujita, Chris Gocong and D'Qwell Jackson, cornerback Dimitri Patterson, and safety Usama Young.
