Cleveland Indians third baseman Lonnie Chisenhall hasn't played since June 30 after breaking the ulna in his right arm, but he's hoping to return to the team sometime this Sept. The Indians have reportedly been encouraged by Chisenhall's progress, and are willing to give him some late-season at-bats if he is healthy.
Chisenhall took ground balls on Tuesday, and also ran the bases and participated in batting practice rotations with the rest of the team. The next step for Chisenhall would be to complete a rehab assignment in the minor leagues, most likely at Double-A Akron.
Prior to his injury, Chisenhall was batting .278/.297/.458 with three homers in what was supposed to be his first full season in the majors.
