2012 PGA Championship: Carl Pettersson Leads At 6-Under

With the first round just about over, Swedish golfer Carl Pettersson leads the field at 6-under. No golfer from Sweden has ever won a major.

A stroke behind Pettersson is his countryman, Alexander Noren. Also tied at 5-under are Gary Woodland, Rory McIlory and Gonzalo Fdez-Castano.

The biggest story of the day, though, is John Daly, who is in the thick of things at 4-under.

Tiger Woods is at 3-under after shooting a 69.

Cleveland native Jason Dufner did not play his best golf on the first day. He finished the round at 2-over and is eight strokes back. A similar round on Friday could have been struggling to make the cut.

The tournament is taking place at Kiwah Island, South Carolina.
