The Kent State Golden Flashes will be on the road for the second straight week when they open conference play at Buffalo on Wednesday.
Kent State is coming off a 47-14 loss at Kentucky while Buffalo knocked off Morgan State 56-34. Kent State has struggled to throw the ball this season with Spencer Keith throwing for just 309 yards through two games. The Golden Flashes have been better on the ground, averaging 141.5 rushing yards per game. Dri Archer has been especially effective, rushing for 132 yards and three touchdowns on just 16 attempts.
Buffalo also features a strong running game with its 252.5 rushing yards per game good for the 17th most in the country. Junior Branden Oliver has rushed for 349 yards and three touchdowns while averaging 6.3 yards per attempt. The Bulls have struggled defensively with their 39.5 points per game allowed ranking 113th in the country.
The teams have not played since 2009, with Buffalo winning that contest 9-6.
