Despite being more than 20 games under .500, the Indians actually have a winning record against the Detroit Tigers this year.
Monday's win put Cleveland at 8-5 against Detroit in 2012. They'll look to get No. 9 when the teams meet Tuesday night at Comerica Park for the second game of a three-game series.
Justin Masterson will be on the mound for Cleveland. He has struggled mightily over his last seven starts, allowing at least seven earned runs in four of them, including seven against the Tigers over four innings on Aug. 3. Detroit will start Rick Porcello.
The Indians have been free-falling in the standings, losers in 16 of their last 19, but getting a series win against the rival Tigers would be a good boost for morale.
Game Date & Time: Tuesday, Sept. 4, 7:05 p.m. ET
TV: STO
Radio: WTAM 1100
