BMW Championship Leaderboard: Rory McIlroy Opens Tied For Lead, Tiger Woods 1 Stroke Behind

The leaders have finished the opening round of the 2012 BMW Championship, and after Day 1, a four-way tie has developed at the top of the leaderboard.

Rory McIlroy followed up his win at the 2012 Deutsche Bank Championship with a score of 64 to finish the first 18 holes at 8-under, where he's joined in first place by Webb Simpson, Bo Van Pelt and Graham DeLaet. Tiger Woods sits just behind them, only one stroke off the lead.

Ohio has two locals in the field at the Crooked Stick Golf Club in Carmel, Ind. Cleveland native Jason Dufner shot even par for his first round, tying him for 56th place, while Columbus, Ohio, native and Kent St. Golden Flashes alum Ben Curtis fared slightly better at 2-under, earning him a share of 41st place.

The BMW Championship is the last chance for players to improve their placement in the FedEx Cup standings. The top 30 players in FedEx Cup points will move on to the Tour Championship.
