The Ohio State men's hockey team will take on the No. 6 team in the nation this weekend, as Western Michigan comes to Columbus for a two-game series. After splitting their most recent series with Alaska, the Buckeyes could use a signature win or two against the Broncos.
Despite winning 3-1 in the second meeting with Alaska, Ohio State didn't receive any votes in the rankings this week. The Buckeyes received a measly four total votes in the previous rankings.
At 12-12-6, the Buckeyes are simply looking to stay above .500. The Broncos now hold an 18-7-5 overall record coming off a series split with the No. 3 ranked RedHawks. Western Michigan suffered a 4-0 shutout to Miami this past Saturday.
The puck drops at 7:05 p.m. ET in both games for the Buckeyes.
If you're a college hockey fan, you'll want to tune in Sunday to the Hockey City Classic at Soldier Field in Chicago. The outdoor event hopes to see better weather conditions than Omaha experienced last weekend. No. 3 Miami will take on No. 12 Notre Dame at noon CT, followed by No. 2 Minnesota vs. No. 18 Wisconsin at 3:30 p.m. CT.
