The second day of First Four action hit the University of Dayton Arena on Wednesday evening. In the first game, James Madison advanced past LIU Brooklyn to advance in the East Region. They now face the top-seeded Indiana Hoosiers on Friday.
James Madison controlled the tempo for much of the game. Led by a strong defensive performance that saw the Dukes block 10 shots, LIU struggled with the ball in their hands. JMU went on to win, 68-55.
A.J. Davis led the Dukes with 20 points, five rebounds, three assists and two steals. Freshman sensation Andre Nation recorded a career-high five blocks in addition to 14 points and seven rebounds. As a team, James Madison shot 46 percent from the field and limited themselves to 11 turnovers.
One of the few bright spots for LIU was the play of senior forward Jamal Olasewere. Likely playing the final game of his college career, Olasewere recorded a double-double with 20 points and 10 rebounds.
Indiana and James Madison will play at 4:10 p.m. ET on Friday. TBS will televise the action from Dayton.
