The Cleveland Cavaliers are already shorthanded on the frontline, and will be even more so on Wednesday night against the Golden State Warriors. Starting center Anderson Varejao will miss the matchup with a sore right knee, further opening up playing time for the end of Cleveland's bench.
The Cavs were planning to be without Varejao's backup Tyler Zeller, who is out indefinitely with a concussion after catching an inadvertent elbow from DeAndre Jordan on Monday night. Samardo Samuels will start alongside Tristan Thompson, and Jon Leuer is expected to see playing time.
So far on the season, Samuels has appeared in two games. He's scored nine points on seven shots and collected six rebounds in 22 total minutes. Leuer, meanwhile, has seen just six minutes of action. He missed his one shot and grabbed two rebounds.
Golden State's big men, headlined by David Lee and Andrew Bogut, will present a tough challenge for Cleveland's makeshift frontcourt.
