The Cleveland Cavaliers have signed former Cleveland State Vikings guard D'Aundray Brown, Cavs general manager Chris Grant announced on Thursday. The terms of the contract were not announced.
Brown, 24, is a 6-foot-4 guard who started 91 games over four seasons at Cleveland State. Over the course of his collegiate career he averaged 7.8 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 1.8 steals in 28.4 minutes per game. During his senior season he started 25 of 26 games and averaged 10.8 points, 4.5 rebounds, 2.2 assists, and 2.5 steals in 29.7 minutes per game.
Brown becomes the 20th player on the Cavaliers roster. He joins Kyrie Irving, C.J. Miles, Dion Waiters, Jeremy Pargo, Daniel Gibson, Kevin Anderson, and Donald Sloan as the Cleveland players on contract in the back court.
Last season the Cavs finished 21-45, last place in the Central Division. They open their 2012-13 season against the Washington Wizards on Oct. 30 in Cleveland.
