Wade Phillips Fired....Finally

Some people thought the first Head Coach fired this season in the NFL might reside right here in Cleveland.  It appeared to many that Mike Holmgren was simply looking for the reason to do it.  After a 1-5 start, it looked like nothing more than a formality.  Not anymore.

The Browns have won 2-straight against two of the NFL's best teams and Mangini seems to be safe - at least if he continues to play Colt McCoy at quarterback.  The same cannot be said for Dallas Cowboy's Head Coach Wade Phillips who was dumped today by the Dallas Cowboys.  Phillips has been the center of rumors for weeks after the Cowboys got off to a horrible start this season.  As late as last week Cowboys' owner Jerry Jones had stated that Phillips would last the season.  Then the 'Boys went out on national TV and were crushed by the Green Bay Packers 45-7.

That leaves Vikings head man Brad Childress as next on the chopping block.  Only Brett Favre's latest heroics in bringing the norsemen back from 14-down against the Cardinals in the final minutes yesterday seemingly saved his job.  Will he be so lucky next week?
