Mike Holmgren and the Cleveland Browns are wasting no time putting together a candidate list to replace former head coach Eric Mangini. According to Adam Schefter, the Browns and Panthers targeted New York Giants defensive coordinator Perry Fewell, asking the Giants for permission to talk to him:
Cleveland and Carolina submitted interview requests to New York to interview Giants defensive coordinator Perry Fewell.
Fewell would meet the requirement of the NFL's 'Rooney Rule' policy, but he's also an intriguing candidate for several teams. Fewell was the DC in Buffalo for four seasons under Dick Jauron, eventually taking over for Jauron last season on an interim basis when the Bills fired him.
