Following a bye this week, the Cleveland Browns are back on the practice field, but without two of their best players. Cornerback Joe Haden and center Alex Mack were held out of practice while they deal with injuries.
An MRI revelaed that Haden sprained his knee against the Tennessee Titans. Reports today said he was wearing a knee brace and his status Sunday against the Oakland Raiders is up in the air.
When he's played, Haden has done well covering the Colts' Reggie Wayne, the Dolphins' Brandon Marshall and the Bengals' A.J. Green (except for a fluke 41-yard touchdown). He was replaced on the first team with Dimitri Patterson.Mack sat out practice while he still recovers from an appendectomy that took place last week. The Associated Press notes that Mack played every snap against the Titans in Week 4 despite feeling sick. Backup Steve Vallos took Mack's place.
Receiver Josh Cribbs also missed practice with a sprained knee.
