Peyton Hillis Trade Rumors: Browns Running Back Won't Be Traded, According To Pat Shurmur

The latest Peyton Hillis trade rumors indicate that the Cleveland Browns running back won't be moved before Tuesday's deadline. That's what head coach Pat Shurmur indicated during his press conference on Monday, anyway, and there's no reason to believe otherwise at the moment.

"I don't want to talk about trades," Shurmur said, " but I don't think that's something that you could ... No, he's not on the trading block."

Hillis has fallen off quite a bit when comparing his four games thus far to last last season's breakout year as he's currently averaging over 20 yards less per game than he did last season -- despite his average carries per game dropping just slightly, from 16.9 to 15.0.

Part of the reasoning for his drop in production might include the fact that he's been battling injury as the running back has an MRI scheduled to diagnose the hamstring injury that forced him to piss part of Sunday's loss to the Oakland Raiders.

Hillis's injury issues and the fact that his production is down this season may be hurting his trade value, leading to the Browns probably not being able to get what he's worth even if they were to decide to trade him. Or, you know, it might also just be due to the Madden Curse.
