It was far from pretty, but Colt McCoy got the job done and the Cleveland Browns are now 3-3 after a lackluster 6-3 victory over the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday. The young Cleveland starting quarterback struggled to produce points with only 178 yards passing and an interception. He did lead the Browns to a pair of field goals, including one with 11:18 left that was enough for the win. Coach Shurmer did defend his quarterback on Monday after the low scoring affair:
↵↵↵"I think Colt's improving and I'll stick with what I said [Sunday]: I thought he battled," said Shurmur. "He scrambled once and got a first down, he got outside the pocket a couple of times and got yards and got out of bounds. He did a lot of good things."

Slow starts have plagued McCoy so far even in wins over the Indianapolis Colts and Miami Dolphins. In both of those games Cleveland trailed early before coming back to win on the strength of its defense.
