The Browns face a major litmus test today against the NFC West leading San Francisco 49ers, but will playing with a major handicap. Cleveland's injury report lists three players for today's late afternoon contest, and it includes the Browns' leading rusher and receiver. Let's take a look what ails Cleveland in Week 8:
Running back Peyton Hillis -- Questionable
Hillis was one of the NFL's breakout stars a year ago by rushing for over 1,100 yards and 11 touchdowns, but he hasn't played since suffering a hamstring injury Week 4 against Oakland. Today doesn't appear to be the day Hillis makes his return. The running back was held out of practice on Thursday, and as of last update, it appear he won't go today.
Wide receiver Mohamed Massaquoi - Out
Massaquoi exited last week's contest against Seattle with a concussion after only one catch for 15 yards. He's been ruled out for today's game versus San Francisco. The Georgia product leads the Browns in receiving yards and is tied for the team lead in touchdowns.
Tight end Benjamin Watson - Questionable
Watson has been battling a concussion, but returned to practice on Friday. There's still no word yet if the Browns' top tight end will be available against the 49ers.
