Week 5 NFL Injury Report: Big Ben Should Be Ready For Steelers Vs. Titans

One big name in the AFC North should be ready to go on Sunday

The Steelers should have Big Ben Roethlisberger available for Sunday's tilt against the Tennessee Titans as the Browns and Ravens enjoy their bye weeks and Pittsburgh and the Cincinnati Bengals are in action today.

No marquee offensive "names" are on this week's full NFL injury report via NFL.com for the Bengals, who take on the Jacksonville Jaguars this afternoon.

Besides Roethlisberger, who is listed as probable for this afternoon's contest against the team that handled the Browns last weekend, Pittsburgh has running back Rashard Mendenhall listed as questionable. And the Steelers will have a large hole on defense with the absence of linebacker James Harrison, who is out with an eye injury.

Browsing through the list of teams and cherry-picking some "big names" who are out for Week 5 in the NFL, we find (obviously) Peyton Manning still out for the Colts against the Chiefs. There is doubt whether Manning will be able to play this year at all, and let's be honest here: If you are Indianapolis and you are, say, 1-12 when Manning might be ready to come back, do you risk it when any positives he can bring would be much too late to make a difference in 2011? I say that even if Manning is ready at some point -- I sit him and hope for 2012.

Back to more names who are out this week: ex-Brown Braylon Edwards is a no-go for the 49ers with a knee. Receiver Andre Johnson is out for the Houston Texans.

In fact, going through all 26 teams in action today, we come up with a grand total of 54 players who are definitely not going to be suiting up.

Because we are most concerned with the AFC North, we encourage you to have a look at the complete lists for both Pittsburgh and Cincinnati in the Injury Report via the link given above to NFL.com.

For more on the Browns' two opponents in action today, have a look at the Bengals' team page via NFL.com or the Steelers' team page from the same source.
