It has already been noted that Cleveland Browns strong safety T.J. Ward would likely be out this Sunday vs. the St. Louis Rams (and he won't play). The question now is how much time Ward will miss as a result of the foot injury that will keep him out on Sunday.
According to Browns beat writer Nate Ulrich, Ward could miss four-to-six weeks. The Browns are hoping that it's not quite that serious, though:
Ward, officially listed as doubtful for Sunday but won't play, will have his cast removed on Monday and then have the foot re-examined. The Browns will then have a better idea how long he'll be out. But the injury is not believed to be a Lisfranc midfoot fracture, which could land Ward on injured reserve. The Browns hope it's a sprain that he can recover from in time to make an impact this season.
The Browns will already be without RB Montario Hardesty (calf), RB Peyton Hillis (hamstring), and WR Mohamed Massaquoi (head).
