The very stellar Cleveland Browns pass defense could be in for a rough ride if some of the injuries noted during Wednesday's practice hold up. According to reports, the Browns have injured to three players in the secondary, on top of the offensive injuries we already know about. For one, safety T.J. Ward has his foot in a cast, after suffering an injury on Sunday against the Houston Texans in which he heard something "pop." There's no official status update for Ward just yet.
Fellow safety Usama Young and cornerback Dimitri Patterson are not practicing on Wednesday, either. Head coach Pat Shurmur also has no status update on Young, but Patterson will supposedly be good to go. According to Tony Grossi, Shurmur said that rookie Eric Hagg is a possibility to play.
On top of that, wide receiver Mohamed Massaquoi was sent him once again from practice. Massaquoi was cleared to play in Sunday's game against the Texans following a concussion, but left the game feeling woozy, and Shurmur has said that he's very strict with concussions. So he didn't practice on Wednesday, either - joining running backs Peyton Hillis and Montario Hardesty, who have already been ruled out for Sunday.
