Week 16 NFL Power Rankings: ESPN Raises Browns Up After Loss

Though the Cleveland Browns lost yet another game in their most recent outing, they played well and kept it close, and because of that, the weekly power rankings are giving them some credit. In fact, a lot of them have the Browns moving up. Most of them are citing a new quarterback controversy, and that's the reason that the Browns are going up this week in many of them.

ESPN puts the Browns at No. 28 in their Week 16 NFL power rankings:

28. In what's been a wild year, the Browns can now add a quarterback controversy between Colt McCoy and Seneca Wallace to the list. (Walker)

That's up one spot from last week, and the quarterback "controversy" is exactly why they're going up (with perhaps a little bit of help from other teams doing poorly), too. Wallace played very well against the Cardinals, who had just beat the then-10-3 San Francisco 49ers. Colt McCoy missed the game with a concussion, but Wallace might have earned more playing time regardless of the quarterback's health, which could also mean the end of McCoy's time as a starter in Cleveland.
