Well, many people expect the Cleveland Browns to strongly consider drafting a wide receiver with the sixth pick in the draft, but how often do you see Julio Jones’ name attached to that pick?
In his first mock draft of the offseason, SI.com reporter and NFL analyst Peter King has done just that. King’s mock draft has highly touted wide receiver A.J. Green going one pick before Cleveland (typical Browns luck) to the Arizona Cardinals, which was perhaps his most curious first round selection.
Jones is coming off of a foot injury that he either suffered or aggravated at the NFL Scouting Combine, where he ran a 4.39 second 40 yard dash. Jones is a big receiver who has drawn comparisons to Roddy White.
If the Browns are serious about adding a top tier receiver, they really cannot go wrong with either Green or Jones, both of whom tore up the SEC in their three years there. Some feel that both are top five picks anyway, so the Browns wouldn’t be missing out on a lot of value here.
