While teams everywhere scramble for undrafted free agents and begin the process of adding players for 2011, the Cincinnati Bengals continue to do what they do best - alienate players and fail to do business the way it should be done.
↵Quarterback Carson Palmer made it known after the 2010 season ended that he wanted nothing to do with returning to the Bengals. Mike Brown, of course, has made it known that he will not trade Palmer, who is still under contract and would make $11.5 million this season.
↵Brown was asked earlier on Tuesday if his stance regaring Palmer had chanced. Joe Reedy has the rest:
↵"He has retired. I wish him well. If he is going to walk away from his commitment, we're not going to reward it."
↵While I understand you cannot let players who are under contract dictate the way you do business, I think everyone would agree - including Bengals head coach Marvin Lewis - that it is time for both sides to start new. The Bengals have a new offensive coordinator and draft a quarterback in the Draft. Free Carson!
