The Browns announced on Saturday that they had acquired defensive tackle Brodrick Bunkley from the Philadelphia Eagles.
So it was a fair bet that he would, in fact, have been traded to Cleveland and would be showing up at camp posthaste.
Not so fast.
In this report from Mary Kay Cabot it seems as if there is some confusion as to whether a trade actually took place. Now the Browns are being "vague", according to the story, and are not even confirming that the deal that involved a 2012 fifth-round pick from the Browns has taken place.
"Browns general manager Tom Heckert said today he had 'absolutely nothing'' to report on Bunkley. When pressed, he declined to provide any information and said 'You'll have to talk to Philadelphia.'", Cabot's report says.
Oddness all around with this story. When it sorts itself out, we will give you an update.
