Cleveland Browns Final: Browns Sluggish On Soggy NIght In Philly, Lose 24-14 To Eagles

The weather outside was frightful, and the Browns were no delightful.  Cleveland plodded it's way to a 24-0 deficit before losing to the Philadelphia Eagles 24-14 last night in rainy Philly.

Michael Vick threw for 98 yards and added a rushing touchdown as the Philadelphia Eagles defeated the Cleveland Browns, 24-14, in the third week of preseason action.

Vick went 10-for-18 through the air and collected 24 yards on the ground in his half of play. Ronnie Brown rushed six times for 41 yards and a score, and LeSean McCoy added 81 total yards for the Eagles.

Colt McCoy completed 9-of-18 passes for 89 yards and an interception in the first half for Cleveland. Peyton Hillis carried the ball three times for 18 yards and added 35 yards on two catches.

Philadelphia struck first thanks to a special teams gaffe by the Browns late in the first quarter. The Eagles were forced to punt from the Cleveland 45- yard line, and on the play two Browns collided with each other as the punt was coming down.

The ball bounced off Jordan Norwood as he was on the ground and long-snapper Jon Dorenbos recovered the fumble on the 13-yard line. After a Vick incomplete pass, Brown scampered in for the score.

An Asante Samuel interception led to a 37-yard field goal by Alex Henery early in the second, and Vick later capped a 10-play drive with an eight-yard TD run to put the Eagles ahead 17-0 at the half.

Cleveland muffed another punt in the third, leading to a 10-yard touchdown run by Vince Young, who completed 9-of-12 passes for 58 yards and ran four times for 24 yards.

The Browns added a touchdown pass apiece from Seneca Wallace and Jarrett Brown in the fourth quarter to account for the final score.

Wallace went 3-for-6 for 53 yards and Brown completed all four of his attempts for 35 yards.
