Inspired by the words of Alonzo Mourning after having lunch with the NBA legend, Cleveland Browns wide receiver Greg Little addressed his teammates recently to encourage them to finish out the season right, as Scott Petrak of The Chronicle-Telegram writes.
During a two-hour lunch with Mourning in Miami arranged after the two met through a friend, Little became "mesmerized" by the message from the longtime NBA big man. Upon returning to Browns practice on Monday, Little felt compelled to do some inspiring of his own.
"He stepped up and talked to the team," Browns receiver Joshua Cribbs said. "Everybody took it to heart coming from him. We were surprised and we back him 100 percent and I’m proud of him."
Little says that he asked his teammates, "What are you willing to give up to win? What are you willing to sacrifice to finish this season out like we really want to?"
The wide receiver says that he gave up social media, including his Twitter account, four weeks ago, and he's began to perform better as a result. Little has 27 catches for 301 yards and two scores this year, but over the past four weeks, he's caught 16 balls for 150 yards and a touchdown.
