The job security of Cleveland Browns head coach Pat Shurmur continues to be a hot topic in Cleveland, but Shurmur said he isn't thinking about it and is instead focused on Cleveland's next opponent.
"I'm not going to focus on that," Shurmur said, according to The News-Herald. "Our energy, our efforts are all going to be directed to the Redskins."
Shurmur's job status has been in question all season as new ownership and management has taken over the Browns. While the Browns went 4-12 in Shurmur's first season and began this season 0-5, they have won three straight games and are still alive in the AFC playoff race.
Shurmur has consistently deflected questions about his job security this season. Monday, he said he's not worried about saving his job, but instead worried about doing his job. Despite the recent winning streak, rumors have persisted. That includes reports last week which said New England Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels could be in line to take over the Browns next season.
