Browns Travis Benjamin nominated for NFL Rookie of the Week award

Cleveland Browns rookie wide receiver Travis Benjamin has been nominated for the NFL Rookie of the Week award for his performance in Week 14.

Cleveland Browns wide receiver Travis Benjamin is one of five players nominated for the Pepsi Max NFL Rookie of the Week award for his part in the Browns 30-7 Week 14 victory over the Kansas City Chiefs.

Benjamin scored on a 93-yard punt return in the second quarter to give the Browns a 10-7 lead. Benjamin also had one rush for 15 yards. The Browns selected Benjamin in the fourth round of the 2012 NFL Draft out of Miami.

The other nominees are Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Nick Foles, who threw for 381 yards and two touchdowns; Washington Redskins running back Alfred Morris, who ran for 122 yards and a touchdown; Minnesota Vikings safety Harrison Smith, who returned an interception for a touchdown; and New York Giants running back David Wilson, who rushed for 100 yards and two touchdowns and returned a kickoff for a touchdown.

Browns running back Trent Richardson won the award in Week 2. The winner of this week's award will be announced on Friday, Dec. 14.
