After hearing the news that former commissioner Paul Tagliabue swiftly overturned the ruling in the New Orleans Saints bounty scandal, a number of Cleveland Browns players jumped on Twitter to show their support for teammate Scott Fujita.
While Fujita continues to deal with a serious neck injury that could very well force him to walk away from the game, Tagliabue ultimately found no clear evidence that the veteran linebacker took part in the team's illegal bounty program. In addition to officially stripping Fujita of all discipline levied from the league previously, the former commissioner also eliminated the suspensions of Saints players Will Smith and Jonathan Vilma, along with free agent Anthony Hargrove.
Though he maintained his innocence throughout the entire process, Fujita was not one to mince words when it came time to criticize the actions of current commissioner Roger Goodell earlier in the season. Even though his reputation was still completely dragged through the mud by the league, Fujita's dropped suspension was more than enough to be a cause for celebration among Cleveland players on Tuesday.
Absolutely thrilled for my teammate Scott Fujita.Great guy.Great player.Great outcome.
