Redskins vs. Browns: London Fletcher discusses 1st game in hometown

London Fletcher, a Cleveland native, discusses playing his first NFL game in his hometown.

David Richard-USA TODAY Sports

It took him 15 seasons in the NFL, but Washington Redskins linebacker London Fletcher played his first game in his hometown of Cleveland on Sunday. Of course, local fans probably didn't appreciate his play then and there, as the Redskins downed the Cleveland Browns, 31-21, but as noted by Cleveland.com, Fletcher was very excited to play in his hometown.

Fletcher said that it was really special to him, but that he tried to downplay it in his mind. According to the piece, it really hit him on Saturday night when the bus took them through his old neighborhood.

"All the different emotions overcame me," said Fletcher after the game. "Driving to the stadium and different stuff like that, it started to become even more special to me."

He bought 43 tickets for friends and family, and if any of them were Browns fans, they at least got to see Fletcher play, and play well.
