Current NFL Draft order 2013: Browns within the top 10

The Cleveland Browns would pick at No. 7 if the NFL Draft started following Week 15.

The Cleveland Browns came close to another win on Sunday, but they fell short against the Washington Redskins. The loss effectively ends their short run of being an actual playoff contender, albeit one who was always a longshot. After winning three straight games, there were a few scenarios in which Cleveland could have made it - which generally boiled down to them winning and every other team in the NFL losing.

That's out the door, so the focus now will be on the 2013 NFL Draft and where the team is going to pick based on how they've done this year.

Cleveland sits at 5-9, tied with five others, while five more have worse records ranging from 2-12 to 4-10. They're tied with the Buffalo Bills, Tennessee Titans, Carolina Panthers, Arizona Cardinals and San Diego Chargers. They have a .480 strength of schedule and that puts them picking after the Chargers (.474) but before the rest of the teams.

Ahead of them in the draft order other than San Diego: the Kansas City Chiefs (2-12), Jacksonville Jaguars (2-12), Oakland Raiders (4-10), Philadelphia Eagles (4-10) and Detroit Lions (4-10). If the draft started today, the Browns would be picking in the No. 7 spot.
