Cleveland Browns tackle Joe Thomas and placekicker Phil Dawson have been named to the 2013 AFC Pro Bowl team. Both players will earn an invite to the league's All-Star extravaganza, held the Sunday before the Super Bowl in Honolulu, Hawaii.
Thomas makes his sixth consecutive appearance on the AFC roster, having made the team in every season since he was selected by the Browns in the 2007 Draft. Thomas had another stellar season at left tackle for Cleveland, providing stability on a line that was sorely lacking it at times. Thomas was the team's only selection for the 2012 game.
The surprise choice is Dawson, a fourteen-season veteran of the Cleveland roster who joined the team in their first season back in the league and has kicked in all but nine games the team has played since 1999. Dawson has improbably turned in his best season as a pro, making 28 of 29 field goal attempts and going a perfect 6 for 6 from beyond 50 yards.
