Browns Free Agency 2012: Peyton Hillis, Dimitri Patterson, Mike Adams And Alex Smith Expected To Hit Open Market

NFL Free Agency begins on Tuesday at 4 p.m. ET and several Cleveland Browns players are expected to hit the market and attract interest from other teams.

According to Mary Kay Cabot at The Plain Dealer, running back Peyton Hillis and cornerback Dimitri Patterson are two of the better Browns expected to actually entertain offers from other teams, while safety Mike Adams and tight end Alex Smith are currently in the process of being re-signed:

Hillis is one of several Browns -- along with cornerback Dimitri Patterson -- who will test the waters. Hillis' agent, Jimmy Sexton, has been in contact with the team, but nothing is expected to be done by the time free agency starts. [...]

Two other Browns free agents that could enter the NFL job fair, safety Mike Adams and tight end Alex Smith. The Browns are still working to get Adams under contract, but he's expected to attract interest because of his versatility.

Nothing is expected to be signed prior to the start of free agency or immediately after, but it could move fast.
