NFL Free Agency 2012: Browns Will Be Third Choice For Matt Flynn, According To Report

As the free agency deadline approached on Thursday afternoon, reports surfaced that the Cleveland Browns were not planning to aggressively target Packers quarterback Matt Flynn in free agency. Speculation estimated a potential $50 million contract would land the former LSU quarterback who's had only two starts at the NFL level, sitting behind MVP Aaron Rodgers.

Then, after the trade deadline, Sports Illustrated's Don Banks supported those earlier reports and tweeted that the Browns would be Flynn's third option at this point.

Banks also tweeted that the Seahawks and Dolphins would likely be the first two choices for Flynn, with the loser of the sweepstakes going after Ryan Tannehill in the draft. Flynn's former offensive coordinator, Joe Philbin, is now the coach in Miami but many reports have the Fins aggressively targeting the big prize, Peyton Manning.
