After firing his agent, Kennard McGuire, last week for not making more progress on a contract with the Cleveland Browns, Peyton Hillis has re-hired Jimmy Sexton, the agent he came into the NFL with, according to Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk. Via Florio on ProFootBallTalk:
Now, a source with knowledge of the situation tells PFT that Hillis plans to re-hire Jimmy Sexton, who has since joined CAA. Per the source, Ben Dogra of CAA also will be involved in the representation.
CAA represents many of the NFL's brightest stars, such as Tim Tebow, Adrian Peterson and Drew Brees. Hillis's contract is set to expire next Tuesday at 4:00 p.m. Last season, Hillis was hampered by injuries and ran for just 587 yards in 10 games. The previous season, Hillis ran for 1,177 yards and 11 touchdowns in his third season in the NFL.
