Selected with the 205th overall selection in the 2012 draft, Winn was drafted out of Boise State where the six-foot-four, 294-pound defensive tackle started in 12 of the team's 13 games in the 2011-12 season. Largely graded as a third-round talent, Winn fell in the draft due to work ethic and 'tweener' issues.
Now, with a torn pectoral injury to defensive lineman Phil Taylor (which many believe will end Taylor's season), Winn has a golden opportunity to prove that the work ethic questions were wrong as he will have a chance to earn Taylor's spot.
