Browns Rookie Minicamp: Trent Richardson Comfortable Following First Workout

The first day of rookie minicamp for the Cleveland Browns was held Friday afternoon. For the team's top draft choice, Alabama running back Trent Richardson, it went pretty well -- so he says. Speaking with reporters afterwards, Richardson sounded rather optimistic about his first football-related activity with his new team.

"It went pretty good," he said. "Starting to get the hang of everything as far as being around everybody."

One thing that might help the young running back, the No. 3 overall pick in last month's NFL Draft, might be familiarity, as he point out some similarities between the Browns' playbook and the one from Alabama.

"Most definitely," he said when asked if he was comfortable with the plays. "Their plays are just like what ‘Bama ran."

Former Browns' Pro-Bowl cornerback Hanford Dixon stopped by minicamp as well on Friday and spoke favorably of Richardson.

"He's strong, powerful, fast. I mean he is the real deal," Dixon said. "I can't wait to see him running up and down the field."
