Coming into the 2012-13 season, there is one major question swirling around the Cleveland Browns; who will be the team's starting quarterback. Only 21 games into the Colt McCoy experiment, the team decided to select 28-year old Oklahoma State quarterback Brandon Weeden with the 22nd overall selection in the 2012 draft. This means that the clock has already started running on McCoy's time as starting quarterback and by the start of the season his time may already have run out.
Since NFL teams don't have to formally file a depth chart until the week of the preseason opener, here is a mock depth chart as to what the Browns quarterback situation may look like courtesy of CantonRep.com:
1. Brandon Weeden
2. Colt McCoy
3. Seneca Wallace
4. Thad Lewis
However, the quarterback position isn't the only spot where a rookie may have a proment role. Prior to taking Weeden at 22, the Browns traded up in order to select Alabama's Trent Richardson with the third overall selection. Richardson is expected to be the primary back, but there is still a chance for players like Brandon Jackson and Montario Hardesty to display that they are capable of being part of a dynamic backfield with options.
Here is the mock chart for the running backs:
1. Trent Richardson
2. Brandon Jackson
3. Montario Hardesty
4. Chris Ogbonnaya
5. Adonis Thomas
