The 2012 NFL season is almost upon us, but there's still plenty of time for players to go out and make fools of themselves and generally create headlines with their ... unfortunate situations. Cleveland Browns safety T.J. Ward took that to heart and found himself in the middle of a dust-up outside of a Hollywood nightclub in which pepper spray was discharged by security officers.
↵TMZ.com had the report and a video of the incident in which you can see one of the security officers, who may have been an off-duty policeman, discharging pepper spray in the direction of Ward and one of his friends. It's unclear if he actually hit Ward with any of it as the video is somewhat poor in that regard, but it was clearly meant to send a message.
↵Needless to say, discharging pepper spray doesn't have quite the showy "pop" that firing a pistol into the air might, but it looks to have got the job done, as no arrests were made and no injuries were reported as Ward went home. It's doubtful anything else comes from this confrontation.
