Rookie quarterback Brandon Weeden is happy with his performance against the Packers in Week 2 of the preseason on Thursday night. In a game that some believe was supposed to a showcase for trade potential of backup quarterback Colt McCoy, Weeden still came out and played the entire first half, in which he completed 12-of-20 passes for 118 yards.
Here's Weeden putting it all in perspective:
"You've got to keep in mind, last week was my first-ever start in the NFL," Weeden said. "I think it's just like a true freshman coming into college. It's an even bigger jump coming up here.
"I think for the most part I threw the ball where it needed to be thrown and I threw it on time."
McCoy ended up seeing some time in the third quarter and completed 4-of-6 pass attempts for 58 yards in that time.
