After taking a brutal hit to the ribs Monday night against the Patriots, it is unlikely that Michael Vick will play this Friday against the Cleveland Browns.
Not only is it a very short week for the Eagles, but Vick has already left both preseason games with an injury. X-rays have been negative both times, but that won't stop the Eagles from being extra cautious. Coach Andy Reid seems content to let Vick sit out the rest of the preseason to ensure that he'll be ready for Week 1.
Another reason the Browns are unlikely to see Vick, or many other Philly offensive weapons, is that the two teams square off in the first week of the regular season. Neither coach will want to show the other too much of what he has planned.
