After missing one day of practice, defensive lineman John Hughes and defensive end Juqua Parker returned to practice for the Cleveland Browns on Tuesday according to Daryl Ruiter of FAN radio. Both players missed Monday's practice with undisclosed injuries.
Hughes, a rookie third-round pick out of Cincinnati, is the current front runner to start at defensive tackle in place of the injured Phil Taylor, who is out until at least midseason as he recovers from pectoral surgery.
Parker, signed this offseason after spending the past seven seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles, is slated to be the backup LDE behind second-year rising star Jabaal Sheard. Parker played in 12 games last season (with zero starts); returned two fumbles for touchdowns and recorded four pass deflections and 1.5 sacks.
